In this workshop, we’ll explore essential skills for Contact Improvisation (CI), integrating them into your dance practice in a safe, playful, and dynamic way. Participants will build a stronger, more attuned body, progressing swiftly yet confidently. Through partnered exercises, we’ll focus on points of contact, weight sharing, and spatial awareness to develop both subtle and highly physical movement skills.

Discover the joy of creative exploration as we improvise movement patterns and pathways, flowing freely through space with rolls, lifts, and even moments of "flying." Without fixed steps, this practice invites endless possibilities for movement and connection.

Open to all levels, from beginners to advanced dancers. This class will be taught in English.

Tommy Russo (USA/BE)

Tommy has been immersed in Contact Improvisation since 1997, with more than a decade of experience performing and teaching for both adults and children since 2013. Passionate about blending diverse artistic disciplines, he fosters creativity, skill development, and confidence in his teaching.

With a background in psychology, Tommy brings a unique perspective to his work, enriched by extensive training in various movement and expressive arts. His diverse practice includes combat sports, folk and ballroom dance, contemporary dance, Shintaido (a dance form inspired by Aikido), acro/ acroyoga, and partnering techniques. He weaves these influences into his teaching and performances.
